Im finally starting to get used to waking up super early and just crashing while on the bus. Today was a 6:30 am wake up so not as bad as some of the days before. This time while driving the view from the window was just endless green grass, no more dirt. It was amazing how quickly the scenery change.
We stopped in a little town called Horsham for lunch and we also bought things for the party on the last night that will be Australian theme. I got an overaized bowtie with the Austrlian flag on it as well and some flag headbands. People got all sorts of different things some girls even got flags to wrap around like a dress.
We made a quick bathroom stop but I walked down to this little creek to take some pictures. It was a gorgeous day out, nice and cool with clear skies.
We drove up a moumtain a bit to get to the Jaws of Death Balconies. It was a beautiful lookout with endless amounts of lush green scenery. As we walked to the lookout there were spots with snow on thw ground. It wasn’t that cold as we were walking so it was very weird seeing snow.
Damien would call spots we visited that weren’t on the itinerary his “Damo Surprise”. Todays surprise was the Silver Band Falls, we were supposed to go to McKenzie falls but it has been closed since January. Damien said that we were lucky because since it was the rainy season the falls were flowing but that during the summer sometimes the falls go dry.
Tonight we stayed in an eco hostel in Halls Gap. It was called Tim’s Place and it was tucked away in the forrest. The coolest part was there were a ton of kangaroos outside of our rooms. There were even a couple that had joeys in their pouches!!
This was the first place that offered wifi since Alice Springs which was at the beginning of our trip down the middle. Needless to say everyone immediately got on their phones. After dinner and catching up on facebook a couple of us watched a movie.
